Albert Worm

The gardener and groundsman of Eccles

An elderly dwarf, wearing dirt-encrusted hardwearing clothes.  He has a wide belt to which are attached multiple odd devices, and carries a number of hempen bags.

Albert knows his place, he works for Professor Jones, and is somewhat dismissive of Jonathon’s horticultural endeavours.   He tolerates Victoria and is friendly towards Sebastian.  He is scared of (while also secretly admiring) Ms Whites.

Equipment

A large magical mattock, +4 to hit and damage.  This can be used as a large fighting axe.  It deals double damage against creatures of the earth, and plants.

A bag of dungballs - each of these will fly apart when thrown and splatter the target with dung, causing disgust and -2 on the next three attacks.  Con ST v conical attack (60'long, 30'wide), DC 14.

A tiny sack of sparkseeds: tiny seeds, which if thrown on the ground shoot up jagged lightning bolts, 10'high, which last for a minute.  Properly thrown seeds can create a barrier of such lightning bolts - anyone crossing the barrier, or caught by a thrown seed when it lands (Dex ST 12) takes 3D6 damage.

Albert also has a small wooden whistle, with which he can charm and instruct any nearby birds.

Attacks  Albert has two attacks, and his stench.  

            Mattock attack, and/or thrown dungball or sparkseed (see equipment)

            Stench: Albert smells strongly of the earth -  all melee attacks on him are at -2.

Albert can also instruct his compost heap, Lisa, to attack any unwanted intruders (see under the Park, Woods, item 2).
