Professor Eloise Jones

 Professor Eloise Jones    Chaotic good scientist, inventor and explorer. 

Professor Jones is a human woman in her mid- to late- thirties; she has brown hair, in a short cut, and green eyes.  Although she frequently wears a full-length gown, when she appears in the Eccles estate she is wearing a dark green jacket and brown leggings (jodhpurs). 

She has a jaunty, flat-brimmed hat with a peacock feather which she will grab if there is time, along with a light blue parasol.

Class: It's complicated...

Professor Jones attacks as a fourth level fighter with a bow, pistols or blowdart, but a 10th level fighter with an epee, with all of the features of such a level (eg Extra Attack, Indomitable).

She can also cast Wizard spells - but as ritual only, even spells not usually castable as ritual.  These are cast as a third level Wizard.  For this she requires her spellbook or notebook.  Spell save DC 18, Spell attack modifier +10.  She knows no cantrips and has no spell slots.

Spells she can ritually cast from her curent notebook: Teleport, teleportation circle, slow, haste, magnify gravity (see Wildemount, p.189), detect clockwork, static charge (see Orn Magic Spells for these two), clairaudience, absorb elements, blink, dimension door, far step, Gate, lightning bolt, maze, misty step, plane shift, reverse gravity, time stop,

Jones carries two electrostatic pistols.  These emit electrical discharges that work as non-contact tasers.  Range 30’, damage 3d6 electrical damage and Con ST vs 15 or be rendered unconscious for 3-5 mins.

Her hat, on command, generates a displacer field, providing the illusion that she is up to seven feet from where she appears to be, effectively improving STs and defences as a displacer beast.  Note however, that this also works if the wearer is unconscious or otherwise incapacitated.  The hat provides 4 uses of this effect, of up to ten minutes each per day.

Her parasol when open, acts as a shield spell on command, up to ten times a day for 20 seconds at a time.  When open it also provides immunity from electrical and psionic attacks, including spells such as detect thoughts.

Jones also wears a broach of teleport – allowing her to teleport to a known place up to six times per day.  She must tap the broach to cause this to happen.  All goods and clothing come with her.

Her boots provide feet on the ground – providing immunity to charms and illusions.

Finally, she has a Ring of Timeslip   which purports to allow her to shift forward or backward in time up to 10 seconds, twice/day.  Her physical location does not change.  As this is inherently dangerous (to the fabric of time) she avoids using except in emergencies.
